SEPTIC TANK Regulations (1st January 2020)
This is a reminder for all residents who are not on mains drainage. The above regulations impose strict limits on the water quality being discharged from your system.
These quality standards are only likely to be met by the installation of a water treatment plant or a drainage field ( This is not a soakaway ).
Properties with traditional septic tanks should not be discharging to surface land or water courses ( Rivers ,streams or ditches).
These regulations were not widely publicised, so we would urge residents to check that their system is compliant , non- compliance will almost certainly be highlighted when selling a property and may also incur a significant fine.
